FAQs
Why hire an interior decorator?
For many of us, our home is our largest financial investment, the center of our family life, our full-time office, and the place we spend most of our time. Given how much money and time we devote to our homes, it makes sense to maximize the look and usage of your home. Working with a decorator ensures that your home will function well for your family, have a cohesive and curated look, and reflect your values and preferences.
What’s your process for working with clients?
I start with a free 30-minute virtual consultation to learn more about your project and share what I can bring to the table. For smaller projects, we’ll decide the best next steps, whether that’s shopping together or working together in your home for a few hours at a time.
For larger projects, I'll come to your home for a more detailed consultation to take photos and measurements and narrow down your specific goals and preferred styles of design. One we’re agreed to a scope and fee structure for the project I'll pull together recommendations based on your budget preferences (more on that below). I'll deliver the recommendations to you via a floor plan, mood boards (mock-ups of each room) and a spreadsheet with links and details for all of the recommendations. I typically offer several different options for each piece, and when we meet to review my recommendations we can use my software to "see" each item in the room. I find clients really appreciate this part of the process and feel more confident in making a purchase because they have a sense of how things will look!
Where can I find reviews of your services?
You can read reviews from my previous clients on Google. Client references are also available upon request.
What’s your style?
While I personally lean towards transitional style (a mix of traditional and modern), I don’t decorate anyone else’s home in ‘my’ style. We’ll work together to identify what you love, and I style your home according to your tastes.
Will you ask me for a decorating budget?
No. One of the great things about how I work is that the budget is entirely up to you! I find that rather than setting an overall budget to spend down, clients like to give me a sense of their preferred budget for certain items (lighting, furniture, etc.) and I work within those guidelines.
Will you push me to order expensive, custom furniture?
No! I have a long list of stores that I like to shop at because of their aesthetic and quality, but I don’t require that clients purchase high-end items. I typically shop at online and retail stores like Etsy, Crate & Barrel, Wayfair, etc. I do have access to furniture dealers and the Denver Design Center and can provide custom options if desired.
